Every Sequoia runs the i-FORCE MAX powertrain, a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 paired with an electric motor for 437 combined system horsepower and 583 lb-ft of combined system torque, driving through a 10-speed automatic.

The SR5 and Limited come with rear-wheel drive and offer part-time 4WDemand four-wheel drive, while the Platinum, TRD Pro, 1794 Edition and Capstone are four-wheel drive only. The TRD Pro adds 2.5-inch FOX internal-bypass coil-overs with rear remote-reservoir shocks, and a load-leveling rear height control air suspension is available on the Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition and Capstone.

For 2027 Toyota fits its latest-generation Toyota Audio Multimedia system and makes the 14-inch touchscreen standard on every grade, so the SR5 now gets the same display as the Capstone. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with selectable display screens is standard across the range as well.

New for 2027 is a built-in Drive Recorder dashcam. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard, JBL 14-speaker premium audio comes on the Platinum, TRD Pro, 1794 Edition and Capstone, and a 10-inch head-up display is available on the Platinum and 1794 Edition.

The 2027 Sequoia steps up to Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, standard on every grade. It covers the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist and Automatic High Beams, and it adds Proactive Driving Assist.

Beyond that suite, the Sequoia carries Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Merge Warning, front and rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking, the Star Safety System and eight airbags. Trailer Merge Warning is the one worth knowing about if you tow, since it extends blind-spot coverage down the length of a trailer.

Seating runs seven or eight depending on grade. The SR5 seats eight on a 60/40 second-row bench, the Limited offers either the bench or captain's chairs, and the Platinum, TRD Pro, 1794 Edition and Capstone all seat seven with captain's chairs standard.

The third row is the Sequoia's signature feature: it splits 60/40, reclines, and slides six inches fore and aft on a power fold-down mechanism, with a multi-level adjustable cargo shelf standard on every grade. Third-row legroom moves between 28.1 and 33.7 inches as the seat slides, with 41.2 inches up front and 39.2 in the second row.

New front-end styling with a more prominent grille arrives for 2027, penned by CALTY. The current Sequoia measures 208.1 inches long on a 122.0-inch wheelbase and 79.8 inches wide, with 8.6 inches of ground clearance on most grades and 9.1 inches on the TRD Pro.

The headline addition for 2027 is the available Trailhunter Package, which brings Old Man Emu suspension, Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R18 tires, bronze-finished wheels, front recovery hooks and added underbody protection. It is a package rather than a separate grade, and Toyota bases it on the SR5.
